Positive Voice Alert
Invitation from  Christopher Bates, Director of the DHHS Office of HIV/AIDS Policy to attend a National AIDS Strategy public meeting on 24 February 2010 in DC

Dear Colleague:

On Wednesday, February 24, from 2:00 to 3:45 p.m., there will be a public meeting about the National HIV/AIDS Strategy (NHAS) and we invite you to register and attend.

The meeting will take place in the Great Hall of the Hubert Humphrey Building, 200 Independence Avenue, SW, Washington, D.C. 20201. The event is being hosted by the White House Office of National AIDS Policy (ONAP) and the Office of Public Health and Science (OPHS) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The meeting will be an opportunity for you to hear an update on the framework for the NHAS and to meet the Federal HIV/AIDS Interagency Working Group. This group is made up of representatives from agencies working on HIV/AIDS across the Federal government, including White House offices, and is responsible for developing the NHAS.

In addition, we will provide a briefing on the results from a series of community discussions held over the last few months by ONAP and OPHS. If you attend the meeting, you will also have an opportunity to participate in informal breakout sessions to have one-on-one conversations with members of the Interagency Working Group.

To participate, you must RSVP and register by close of business on Friday, February 19, to Ms. Terrie Alvarez at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it The number of seats available is limited and we will accept reservations on a first-come, first-served basis. We will also post meeting minutes and additional information on AIDS.gov

Respectfully,

Christopher Bates
