NAPWA is funded directly by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) to provide Capacity Building Assistance to organizations for prevention efforts focused on mobilizing Latinos, African Americans, women and HIV-positive individuals specifically for HIV testing, stigma, access to care, and prevention with positive initiatives. Other CDC-funded organizations provide training and capacity building on a wide range of HIV prevention activities and populations.
For more information on CDC Capacity Building Efforts, go to: http://www.cdc.gov/hiv/topics/cba/about.htm.
You can request CBA training in a few different ways:
1. If you are funded by the CDC, you can access the Capacity Building Request Information System (CRIS) directly here: http://wwwn.cdc.gov/cris/s2/s2login.aspx.
2. If you are not CDC-funded, you can request CBA services through your local health department.
3. You may also contact the agency directly to help you identify need and start the request process.
All CBA trainings are free of charge!
